NACOS stands for Navigation and Command System.

NACOS is a fully integrated unit. It integrates RADAR, ECDIS, AUTOPILOT, AIS and VDR with the help from CANbus and LAN.

Now, SAM Electronics uses the word ”Workstation” about every single module instead of the traditional breakdown of the systems.

It is the philosophy that the navigator on duty should be able to get validated data in a simple and clear way depending on the situation. The navigator should also be able to manoeuvre the ship from this position.
