"Sundbusserne" choose Amplidan / SAM Electronics

SAM Electronics represented by daugther companies Amplidan and Lyngsø Marine wins 2 new ferry orders at the Polish shipyard Remontowa. The new ferries will accommodate 400 passengers, and will be in operation first half of 2007. The owner is the Norwegian company Eitzen Holding AS, and "Sundbusserne A/S" will operate the vessels.

The Polish shipyard Remontowa is in the process of building 2 modern passenger vessels, which appear more like luxurious Mega Yachts. The new ferries will accommodate 400 passengers, and will be in operation first half of 2007. The owner is the Norwegian company Eitzen Holding AS, and "Sundbusserne A/S" will operate the vessels.
 
The Passenger vessels will service Helsinborg-Helsingør, the fast traffic route between northern part of Zealand/Denmark and Sweden.
 
SAM Electronics are together with the daughter companies Amplidan A/S and Lyngsø Marine A/S supplying navigation, internal communication, engine room automation and electrical propulsion including generators, transformers and switchboards.
 
The Bridge will be equipped with a fully integrated SAM Electronics NACOS 35-5 bridge, including the newest Chartradar 1100. NACOS is the abbreviation for "Navigation and Control System".
 
The vessels will be equipped with 3 x 740 kVA generators and a diesel-electric propulsion system. 2 azimuth thrusters of each 600 kW will give the vessels a maximum speed of approximately 14 knots. During maneuvering it is possible to operate the bow thruster at 300 kW.
 
Sales Manager in Amplidan A/S, Christian M. Skytte describes the delivery of the complete NACOS system as a breakthrough for the newly established Navigation department in Hørsholm. The department was established in 2006 as a local representation of the Navigation equipment of SAM Electronics in the Danish market, and has already delivered numerous retrofit installations.
 
These 2 vessels are the first new building projects to be supplied from Amplidan A/S, and with the fast growing presence in the market, the operator "Sundbusserne A/S" can expect a fast and local after sales service from the headquarters of Amplidan A/S and Lyngsø Marine A/S in Hørsholm.

SAM Electronics, Energy and Drives Division
SAM Electronics Energy and Drives Division supplies electrical propulsion, generators, power distribution system and power management:
- 2 Electrical azimuth propulsion pods with:
2 AC motors 600 kW, 1800 rpm
2 AC/AC converters 6-pulse with DC voltage link, PWM-inverters with
IGBT-modules, breaking chopper and control system
- 1 Electrical bow thruster with:
1 AC thruster motor 300 kW, 1500 rpm
1 AC/AC converter 6-pulse with DC voltage link, PWM-inverters with
IGBT-modules, breaking chopper and control system
- 3 Diesel generators 800 kVA, 400 V, 50 Hz, 1500 rpm
- 1 Switchboard, 400 V for propulsion and main supplies.
